Read about Driscoll's Centennial in the Boston Globe

Read the Boston Globe article about Driscoll's 100th in the Sunday, April 22nd paper.  There are quotes from various alumni, including Conan O"Brien.  As the article mentions, we are expecting well over 500 alumni, parents and staff at the May 5th Centennial Celebration -- over 400 tickets have been sold aleady.  If you haven't yet purchased your tickets to the Centennial Celebration, they are still available for purchase online.  See you on May 5th.

Speeches

I was an eighth grade student at Driscoll School.  It was very quiet wherever I walked in the school.  I seem to remember echoes, for artwork did not decorate the hallways the way it does now.  My eighth grade English class was where the staff room is now.  I had a lovely teacher who was very soft-spoken and very sweet.  I remember reading The Odyssey as a class reading and discussing in depth the characters' feelings and actions.  I began to realize then that I could read an authentic "classic" and really enjoy it.  That was the beginning of my reading craze that has lasted through my life!

Driscoll Lessons

Driscoll has taught me so many things, but most of all to cherish friendship and connection between myself and other people.  When I first came back to DriscollI was perfectly content with being alone, but as the days went by and I started to talk to people I never thought I would, I truly learned how much it meant to have someone to trust.  Even though I don't go to Brookline High with almost everyone else from Driscoll,I still see my close friends from Driscoll every week. The teachers that have supported me and I am really thankful for all they have given me.
